MainPower – new ads strategies
Mainpower reached out to us around the change-over from Universal Analytics to GA4 Analytics and needed help with reporting setup as well as managing their display and search campaigns.
We’re continuing to refine and update the messaging and campaigns we’re currently running for MainPower and have a fantastic relationship with the team. Their passion for clear communication and supporting their network users shines through every conversation we have. We’re currently working through a User Experience project and content refresh based on SEO insights to optimise the information on their website further.

The challenge
MainPower paid activities in Google Ads are a different kettle of fish, where an increase in searches and website visits indicate a power outage, rather than an “increase in sales”! MainPowers’ objectives for the Google Ads campaigns and MainPowers’ website are all about sharing information and bringing effective communication to their network users about power outages, but also about preparing for power outages, tree trimming work and how to apply for new connections.
The solution
The existing search campaigns were running on a “Smart bidding” strategy which was spending budget on irrelevant keywords. We’ve updated the ads and campaign structure and strategies to ensure these campaigns were able to have a much lower cost per click, giving the ability to MainPower to run these campaigns with a very small daily budget – as the cost per clicks sit around the 15 cents per click.
